‘Jeetne ki feel aa rahi hai’ – Fans react as Mohammad Siraj claims wickets of both South African openers in quick time at Newlands

India could not have asked for a better start in the new year and for the second Test of the 2-match Test series against South Africa. Mohammad Siraj claimed the wickets of both the openers of South Africa in quick time at Cape Town in the first innings. The star bowler has been bowling so well in the ongoing Test match. While he bowled well in the first Test but did not claim as many wickets, he has been right on the money in the second Test.

The right-arm pacer got the ball to swing away from the right-handers. He also got the ball to move away from the surface. Both the openers were in all sorts of trouble against the Indian pacer who seemed a lot more threatening on a wicket that has offered a lot for the pacers so far.

For Markram, Siraj bowled a terrific ball. The right-arm pacer landed the ball on a good length. It seems to be the plan from the Indian bowlers so far; to bowl in a good length and let the ball do the rest of the job. Siraj bowled in a good length and got the ball to move away from the right-hander. Markram had no clue about it whatsoever.

Markram edged one and Yashasvi Jaiswal claimed a brilliant catch in the slip cordon. Indian players were happy for the first wicket and Siraj was totally pumped up. What followed it was a huge wicket for India. Siraj dismissed the dangerous Dean Elgar and sent tremors to the South African dressing room. The Indian players were particularly happy with the 2nd wicket.

Elgar was one batter who had troubled India a lot in the last 3 Test matches against the visiting side. In the previous match, the veteran had singlehandedly taken the game away from India. Siraj got the ball to bounce a bit higher than usual. Elgar could not time the ball well and threw the bat at it. There was no timing and the ball hit the stumps after taking the inside edge of the willow.
