Jannik Sinner did the unthinkable in the semifinal of the Australian Open 2024 – Beat Novak Djokovic. The Italian Tennis player became the first player to beat Novak at the Australian Open in a long time. The win was not anticipated by many and as a reason, it is a special victory for the 4th seeded player who is in some form. The youngster now has a good chance to win the final.

Sinner will play the winner of the match between Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev. In the semifinal match, Sinner overcame the Serbian in the 4th set. The match was dominated by Jannik who was so good on serve and long rallies. He hit many aces and forced Novak to commit many errors. Sinner overcame Djokovic by 6-1, 6-2, 6-7(6-8), 6-3.

Barring the third set, Sinner dominated Novak in all the other sets. even in the set he lost, the competition went to the tiebreaker and Sinner lost it in a close battle. No player has probably beaten Novak in a more convincing way in a long time. After the win, the Italian spoke to the broadcasters and felt happy about the win. Sinner claimed it to be a tough match and expressed happiness to emerge victorious.

“Yeah, awesome. I don’t know what to say really. I started off with a couple exhibition matches, trying to come here as prepared as possible. The confidence from end of last year has for sure kept the belief that I can play with the best players in the world. I’m really happy I can play Sunday my first final,” said Jannik after beating Novak Djokovic.
