Jailer movie in HD leaked online! Fans blame the rival actors

Rajinikanth’s Jailer movie has once again shown why he is Kollywood’s box office king. After Ponniyin Selvan 2, it is the most lucrative movie to come out of the industry in 2023. At the international box office, the movie, which debuted on August 10, 2023, has earned more than Rs 600 crores.

Unexpectedly, the film’s HD (high-definition) has been posted online considerably earlier than its anticipated OTT release. The same has angered many Thalaiva fans. Some of them have attributed this dubious behaviour to the supporters of competing actors. Fans have asked that people refrain from encouraging piracy because the movie is still performing well commercially.

The leak of the high-definition version of Jailer has the theatre owners in a state of anxiety. The director of Rohini Silver Screens in Chennai, Rhevanth Charan, asked followers on social media to refrain from sharing and viewing the leaked version.

In his tweet, he asked supporters to refrain from posting any HD versions of the film Jailer on social media, so that people might watch it as it was intended—in theatres. The Tweet read, “Let’s make every effort not to encourage piracy. The choice about the release date of Jailer on SunNXT, the producers’ OTT platform, will now be made by Sun Pictures.”

The creators are now thinking about moving forward with the OTT release of Jailer from its originally scheduled date due to the existence of pirated prints online. The team’s first goal was to make the movie available to everyone during the Vinayaka Chavithi festival via the Sun NXT digital platform. There are signs that they may currently be thinking of releasing it online on September 7, 2023. There will be a formal announcement about this soon.
