In the ongoing Asia Cup 2023, India managed to get one point as their high-voltage clash against Pakistan washed out on September 2. In the game, the Men In Blue batted first after winning the toss. However, the seven-time winners had a poor start as they lost four wickets for 66 runs. The likes of Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya helped the team reach 266 all-out.

Jasprit Bumrah also added some vital runs with the bat as well. However, the Green Brigade didn’t even have a chance to chase down the target as rain ensured no more play was possible. This led to both teams getting one point each and the two-time winners reaching the Super Four. On the other hand, India needs to win against Nepal to reach the next round.

India vs Nepal set to get impacted by rain

Just like the Indo-Pak game, this game will also be played in Pallekele. The Central Province city has been experiencing regular rains in the last few days. The same might happen during the India-Nepal game. However, as reported by AccuWeather as of now, rain will arrive between 4 to 6 PM.

The rest of match time will witness cloudy but clear weather during the day. Even though India gained some positive in the middle-order batting against Pakistan, they would like to have a full-fledged game against the minnows, Nepal. Also, the seven-time winners would like to rest one or two bowlers for the game. The likes of Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Shami might get a game.

Even though India is the favorite against Nepal, they wouldn’t want to take their opposition lightly as they recently lost a T20I series against West Indies that failed to qualify for the ODI World Cup this year. Not to forget, the two-time T20 World Cup champions failed to qualify for the Super 12 round last year after losing to the likes of Ireland and Scotland.
