The Bangladeshi squad for the ODI World Cup 2023 is out. The squad has the likes of Shakib Al Hasan (Captain), Litton Das (Vice-captain), Najmul Hossain Shanto, Tanzid Hasan, Towhid Hridoy, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Hasan, Mahedi Hasan, Tanzim Sakib, Nasum Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed, and Mustafizur Rahman.

Shakib Al Hasan will lead the Bangladeshi side. The experienced All-rounder will be the most senior player in the squad and has a lot of experience behind him. There are some more players like Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, and Mustafizur, who are experienced in the international circuit. The Bangladeshi team will want these players to give their best in the tournament for Bangladesh to have any chance.

However, a big name is missing from the squad. Tamim Iqbal is excluded from the Bangladeshi squad for the tournament. It is making the headlines, as the experienced batter had announced his retirement during the series against Afghanistan and took it back following the intervention of the Bangladeshi PM. The snub of Tamim is questionable, given the backing of the PM of the country.

Reasons for Tamim Iqbal’s snub from the World Cup squad are unknown 

Iqbal is one of the best players to have ever played for Bangladesh. The southpaw was one of the best batters in the 2017 Champions Trophy, and the 2016 T20 World Cup. In the big tournaments, Tamim seemed to step up for his team. Unfortunately, Tamim was left out of the Bangladeshi squad. The reason for excluding Tamim is not known yet. But the fans are curious to know it.

Bangladesh has some very good names in the squad. Towhid Hridoy, Najmul Shanto, Litton Das, and Tanzid Hasan are talented batters. The bowling unit looks good with the likes of Mahedi Hasan, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Nasum Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, and others.
