Mumbai Indians haven’t had the greatest of close seasons as controversy has surrounded them. The five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) winners paid over the odds to bring back Hardik Pandya for the IPL 2024 season. The 30-year-old is now a major doubt for the upcoming season due to injury.

Hardik Pandya got injured during the ODI World Cup 2023 game versus Bangladesh. As per reports doing the rounds, Hardik Pandya may not be fit in time for the IPL. The India star is surely set to miss the T20I series against Afghanistan in January.

One of the easiest choices the Mumbai Indians franchise can make is to bring back Rohit Sharma as the skipper. The 36-year-old was removed from the top job last Friday and the fans didn’t like it one bit. Rohit Sharma has the experience of leading the side for a decade. It will also give him a chance to go out as the skipper on his terms which will satisfy the fans. If Mumbai Indians win their 6th title it will be a perfect gift for Rohit and his fans.

Suryakumar Yadav –

Yet another local lad who has a massive fan following is none other than Suryakumar Yadav. The 33-year-old took to captaincy like a duck to water during the recent international T20I season. Suryakumar Yadav beat Australia at home and drew against South Africa with a young squad. If SKY gets to lead the Mumbai Indians side it will speak about the quick growth the 33-year-old has got since his India debut in 2021.

Jasprit Bumrah –
