The announcement, made on November 26, has left CSK fans astonished due to some surprising retentions and releases.

As the deadline for franchises to disclose their retention and release lists approached, the excitement among fans escalated, especially with CSK having numerous open slots in their team. The upcoming auction, scheduled to take place in Dubai, is expected to be a nail-biting event as teams aim to fill these gaps in their squads.

Despite the auction being 20 days away, IPL teams have already initiated their strategic planning for the forthcoming season. Speculation had been circulating regarding the participation of former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni in the upcoming season.
