Inzamam Ul Haq takes massive swipe at Zaka Ashraf after latter tenders his resignation
Pakistan Cricket is never short of drama and controversy. Zaka Ashraf recently stepped down as the chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board. Once this news came to light, former Pakistan captain Inzamam Ul Haq slammed Zaka Ashraf.
Inzamam Ul Haq was the national selection head under Zaka Ashraf. Once the men in green exited the tournament, Inzamam Ul Haq decided to step down from his post. Babar Azam also stepped down as the captain of the side from all the formats.
Shan Masood and Shaheen Shah Afridi were appointed as the new captains of the team. While the Test team is being led by Shan Masood, the T20I format is being led by Shaheen Afridi.
Inzamam Ul Haq’s sharp attack on Zaka Ashraf –
Former Pakistan skipper Inzamam Ul Haq minced no words while attacking Zaka Ashraf. The fresh attack after Zaka Ashraf decided to step down as the PCB Chief. The entire reign has been mired with controversy which saw the Pakistan team suffer on the field.
While addressing the media, Inzamam Ul Haq said “Can you imagine the mindset of the players when during an important event like the World Cup in India they hear that the PCB Chairman is saying the team selected was not done by the board but by the captain and chief selector only”
The former right-handed batter also said “Just think what must be going through the player’s mind when they hear that an inquiry committee has been formed against the chief selector and he has resigned”
While speaking to the media, Inzamam also asked “Where does this happen?” The emotional outburst took many surprises. It seems all the turmoil has also affected the performance. Shan Masood and Shaheen Shah Afridi both saw their team lose the series to Australia and New Zealand.
“I am still waiting for that report of the inquiry committee against me which was formed to probe whether I had committed a conflict of interest while being the chief selector. These changes affected the performance of the team and just imagine when they can put pressure on a world-class performer like Babar Azam what would the other players be thinking? The team was struggling in the World Cup and they needed to be given full confidence but this didn’t happen” Inzamam Ul Haq said to the media.
