In the first Test between India and South Africa, the hosts have been phenomenal with the ball on Day 1. After the end of two sessions on the first day of the game, South Africa pushed India way back into the game. The Vistors lost seven wickets after scoring 176 runs after 50 overs while being called to bat first.

However, all the headlines were stolen by South African pacer Kagiso Rabada, who took five out of seven wickets. After coming back from injury, Rabada outshined the Indian batting line-up with his sheer pace. From India skipper Rohit Sharma to Virat Kohli, he dismissed the top five batters. With this bowling performance, Rabada also completed 500 wickets in international cricket.

In the ongoing game, Rabada dismissed Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Shardul Thakur. Rohit in his innings scored just five runs as he registered the first below-double-digit score in Test Cricket after 30 innings. He also became the prey of Rabad for the record 13th time in international cricket.

Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer tried to rescue India.

After early setbacks, India was looking way back in the game. However, Virat Kohli, along with Shreyas Iyer, added 68 runs for the fourth wicket. Kohli, in his inning, scored 38 runs off 64 balls with the help of five fours. Meanwhile, Iyer, in his inning, scored 31 runs off 50 balls with the help of three fours and a six. Both were dismissed by Rabada soon after the lunch break.

Currently, wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul, along with Jasprit Bumrah, will be keen to add some quick runs. They will need to give the bowlers a good total to fight in the ongoing game. India will be keen to make a comeback, as the winner of this game will surely have an advantage in a two-match series.
