India ended the 2nd day of the Hyderabad Test on a good note. After the good start provided by Yashasvi Jaiswal in the last session of 1st day, England managed to dismiss the youngster quickly at the start of the 2nd day. What followed was the good batting performance from KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja. The duo batted very well for India on the day.

Rahul framed a good partnership for the fourth wicket with Shreyas Iyer. The latter could not sustain for a longer period. Despite batting well in the middle during his stay, Iyer was tempted to play a shot after receiving a hit-me delivery. The Indian batter could not time the ball to perfection and ended up giving a simple catch to the fielder stationed at the mid-wicket region.

Despite the wicket of Iyer, India marched on in the Test match by batting well in the progression of the day. Thanks to the duo of Jadeja and Rahul, India was able to wipe off the first-innings deficit. Rahul was brilliant in the middle during his stay. the middle-order batter played the spinners and Mark Wood equally well. With the help of Jadeja, Rahul approached closer towards a 100-run mark.

Rahul suffered a similar fate as that of Iyer. In an attempt to pull a short delivery, Rahul ended up giving a simple catch to the mid-wicket fielder, as he registered a good score of 86 runs. Jadeja continued from there and framed a good partnership with KS Bharat. The star All-Rounder batted well with the lower-order batters and strengthened India’s position in the game.

Bharat scored 41 runs in the 7th wicket partnership. The WK batter perished before scoring his maiden fifty but did a good job for the home side. Ravichandran Ashwin was undone due to a bad call from Jadeja. After the wicket, India did not suffer any other hiccups. Along with Axar Patel who is unbeaten at 35, Jadeja remains unbeaten at 82, as India ended the day with a score of 421/7.
