Hardik Pandya is set to miss three matches of India. The star All-rounder is yet to fully recover from his injury, which he sustained during the match against Bangladesh in Pune in the ODI World Cup 2023. While bowling, Hardik attempted to stop the ball from his leg. In the process, Hardik twisted his ankle, which looked a bit serious, as he struggled to wake up from his position.

Virat Kohli bowled the rest of the over. As Hardik walked off from the field, he did not take part in the match for the remainder of the game. After the injury, Hardik was taken to scans. the reports suggested a ligament tear in Hardik’s ankle. Hence, Hardik was rushed to the National Cricket Academy, where he is currently undergoing rehabilitation. Pandya is yet to recover from his injury.

Hardik was ruled out of the match against New Zealand in Dharamshala. The earlier reports suggested that Hardik might recover quicker than anticipated to be available for the game against England in Lucknow. But the latest reports suggest that Hardik will not be available for the matches against England, Sri Lanka, and South Africa. Hardik is almost sure to not take part in the matches against England and Sri Lanka.

“Pandya has suffered a bad sprain but fortunately not a fracture. The BCCI medical team wants to take maximum precautions. He is likely to miss the next two to three matches. The team wants him fully fit for the knock-out stage,” the reports revealed the situation of Hardik. It does not seem to be a good sign for India.

If what reports suggest is to be believed, it will be a big blow for the Indian team, who will miss one of their best players. Though reports suggest that Hardik’s injury is not serious, the Indian management is unlikely to risk him. With India’s last group stage match set to be against Netherlands, there are chances of Hardik being rested for the entire group stage of the tournament.
