India is set to retain its current coaching staff till the end of the T20 World Cup 2024. After looking for some other options in the form of Ashish Nehra, India could not find better options. As a result, India reportedly asked Rahul Dravid to continue as the Indian coach till the end of the T20 World Cup 2024. India waited for the reply of Dravid.

It was highly unexpected for Dravid to accept the extension of the contract with India. It has genuinely come as a surprise for many, as the reports suggested that Dravid might not accept the extension of the contract. But as things have turned out, Dravid has accepted the offer of the Indian cricket board. The new contract between India and Dravid is set to happen till the end of the T20 World Cup 2024.

VVS Laxman was the foremost name heard to lead India after the exit of Dravid. But the latest reports suggest that Laxman is likely to continue as the Head of the National Cricket Academy. In the absence of Dravid, Laxman is likely to help India as a part-time coach. It has been the same way in the last few months under the tenure of Dravid as the Indian coach, which is unlikely to change.

Coaching personnel to continue for India

Along with the Head coach, other personnel in the coaching staff are likely to continue with India till the end of the T20 World Cup 2024. Vikram Rathour, T Dilip, and Paras Mhambrey are likely to continue with Team India for the next 8-9 months. These coaches know the Indian players well and might help India shortly.

Vikram Rathour is the batting coach for India, who has been with India for a long time now. T Dilip was instrumental in India’s improved fielding in the ODI World Cup 2023. Paras Mhambrey helped the bowlers to give their best in the tournament. The challenge for them would be to continue the good momentum till the end of the T20 World Cup 2024.
