Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh often remains in the headlines due to his controversial statements about the former cricketers. Harbhajan was involved in multiple controversies throughout his cricket career whether it was about slapping Sreesanth or the ‘Monkey Gate’ scandal with Andrew Symonds.

Meanwhile, Harbhajan, who recently turned into a politician for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP),  visited the flood-hit areas in Jalandhar to provide help and basic needs for them. He was accompanied by his fellow Rajya Sabha MP, Balbir Singh Seechewal. Earlier, the former spinner was criticised for not visiting the flood-hit areas and vacationing in foreign.

People who were winning games were no better: Harbhajan Singh

Harbhajan was a part of the Indian squad that won the 2011 ODI World Cup under former legendary skipper MS Dhoni. He recently discussed the reasons why the players from the Indian squad that defeated Sri Lanka in the 2011 World Cup final didn’t reunite for the Men in Blue after that.

“I don’t know that. They were probably used till the World Cup only and it’s a mystery for me as well why that team never assembled again even for one match, which is very surprising. I wish things could be taken back and rectified. It will be good if we come together and play a game. It will be great fun but very unfortunate that the team didn’t assemble again and didn’t play another tournament or even one match,” Harbhajan was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.

“It is beyond my understanding that the team was very good until we won the 2011 World Cup but suddenly so many changes in that team after that. People who were winning games, they were no more good. There were some players in that team for whom it seemed like it was their last World Cup but there were quite a few players who could have played. Yes, we were aged but we could have played,” he added.
