Indian cricket team’s veteran leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is currently in action in the ongoing County Championship in the United Kingdom. Chahal is playing for Kent and has been performing very well in the tournament so far. However, during his recent appearance for the team, Chahal was seen wearing a special jersey.

The veteran leggie donned a 27-numbered jersey instead of his regular number 3 jersey. Fans were keen to know the reason behind Chahal wearing a different number jersey. The leg-spinner revealed later that the no. 3 jersey wasn’t available so he decided to wear a no. 27 jersey which was dedicated to his wife’s birthdate.

Chahal’s wife Dhanashree Verma celebrates her birthday on September 27. She is quite famous on social media because of her amazing dance videos. There are also many instances where both of them were seen dancing together as Dhanashree often shares videos of her dancing with his husband.

No place for Chahal in India’s ODI squad

Talking about Chahal, he was recently snubbed from India’s squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Ignoring Chahal was quite shocking for the Indian fans as Chahal has contributed a lot to the Indian team in the past. It won’t be wrong to say that the Men in Blue will miss his services badly in the major world tournament.

He was also not included in the ongoing 3-match ODI series against Australia. Surprisingly, Ravichandran Ashwin, who also didn’t get a place in the squad, was recalled in the ODI series against Australia. He also played the first 2 matches of the series and bowled very brilliantly.

Ashwin’s recent performance in the series might help him get a spot in the squad for the ODI World Cup 2023. Allrounder Axar Patel who was named for the major tournament, got himself injured in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023 and is ruled for the World Cup now.
