Imam-ul-Haq has received flak on social media for congratulating Sarfaraz Khan for getting India call up in the Tests against England. As KL Rahul was ruled out of the remainder of the series due to the right quadriceps injury he sustained against England in the 1st Test, Sarfaraz was called as the replacement. The Indian Cricket Board confirmed the same with its media advisory.

“The Men’s Selection Committee have added Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar and Washington Sundar to India’s squad,” said the statement of the Indian Cricket Board in the media advisory. After the efforts the Mumbai batter has put over the years in domestic cricket, the selectors have finally acknowledged it by giving him a chance to be in India’s main squad.

While it is to be seen if Sarfaraz can get to play some matches for India in the Tests, Imam was happy for the Indian batter. Taking to X, the Pakistani opener posted an image of Khan and wished him luck. “Congratulations brother. So Happy for you,” wrote Imam on X. It did not go well with the fans of Pakistan, who questioned the star batter’s motive behind wishing the Indian batter.

Outrage of fans over Imam-ul-Haq

Imam has not been in a good form in the last few months. The Southpaw has not been able to score runs consistently for Pakistan. As a result, he has been in and out of the side for a long time. It has not gone well with the fans who have questioned him. The latest post wishing Sarfaraz Khan has only acted as a salt on the wounds of the fans of Pakistan.

It has led them to troll the Pakistan batter. Some have questioned the fitness of the batter and asked him to improve it. Some others have asked him to not wish a batter from other country. “Stick to your own country Mr. Protein shake,” a user commented. Pakistan will not be playing much before the T20 WC 2024. Hence, PSL 2024 would be crucial for Imam.
