The 2023 ODI World Cup is all set to begin in October in India and as per recent reports, some changes are on the cards regarding the previously announced schedule. So, fans are eagerly waiting for both the Governing Body of Cricket and the Indian Cricket Board to announce the new updated schedule by making the needed changes.

But, now, the Times of India reported that the Indian Cricket Board have donated 2.25 crores of gym equipment to the Constitution Club of India for both present and past parliamentarians. This club gets used as a platform for interaction. On 21 December 2022, an Apex Council meeting was held and according to the minutes of that meeting, the Board secretary Jay Shah informed the members about CCI’s request for funds.

The Constitution Club of India got established in February 1947

After all negotiations, it has been confirmed that a final quote worth INR 2.27 crores has been submitted to the Board. A lump sum amount of 2.25 crores have been directly made to CCI for such equipment. The official website of the Indian Cricket Board stated: “The members took note of the update and approved the lump sum donation of Rs 2.25 crores to CCI directly towards the purchase of gym equipment.”

Speaking of this club, it is located in Delhi’s Vithal Bhai Patel House. In February 1947, this club was established. The main aim of this club was to foster social contact among members of the Indian Constituent Assembly. Currently, it is just a platform for interaction for both past and present parliamentarians. The speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla leads this club as the president. Harivansh Singh is the general secretary, while Hardeep Singh Puri is the vice president. Rajiv Shukla is the sports secretary at CCI. However, some fans seemed unhappy with such a bulk amount of investment just for a gym for the Parliamentarians as they found the whole matter unnecessary.
