‘Ek havan karwalo ghar me’ – Fans react as Harry Brook opens up on his exclusion from England’s squad after Ben Stokes’ comeback

England Cricket Board made a shocking decision after they removed their young batter Harry Brook from the squad for the upcoming ODI and T20I series against New Zealand. England’s star allrounder Ben Stokes came out of his retirement and replaced Brook in the squad and now there are very less chances for Brook to make it to England’s squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023.

Meanwhile, Brook recently talked about his exclusion from the squad and said that he is trying to not think about it. Brook also revealed that he had a conversation with England’s head coach Matthew Mott and captain Jos Buttler and they said that he will miss the World Cup when Stokes will be back in the squad. Many fans have reacted to Brook’s statement and wished him a better future.

“I’m trying not to think about it anymore. I’ve not had many conversations with Matthew [Mott] or Jos [Buttler]. They said with Stokesy coming back I was probably going to miss out this time. He is one of the best players to ever play cricket, so I can’t really complain, can I? It’s disappointing, but I can’t do anything about it now.” Brook was quoted as saying by India Today.

Brook said that he didn’t have the opportunity to play many ODI matches whether it is for Yorkshire or for the national team. The right-hander said that he played a lot of T20 matches but didn’t concentrate on ODI cricket which might be the reason for his exclusion.

“I feel like I’m playing well at the minute and feel I could potentially add value to the team. [But] there’s always something more you could do. I haven’t had much opportunity to play one-day cricket, whether that be for Yorkshire or England and although I’ve played a lot of T20 cricket, I don’t know if I’ve done as well as I have in the past in the last six months, so that might have had an effect.” he said.
