The flair as well as competition for the World Cup 2023 have started to rise slowly as there are less than 50 days left for the marquee clash between both the heavyweights of cricket. Citing this, Imad Wasim, a Pakistani all-arounder, predicts that Pakistan will win both the ODI World Cup in India later this year and the Asia Cup in 2023.

The left-arm spinner also believes that the Men in Green are fully prepared for the major events. The eagerly awaited ODI World Cup is slated to take place in India from October 5 to November 19. The Men in Green will think they have a decent chance of winning the tournament in India because they have talented players on their team. They haven’t won the World Cup since claiming their first crown in 1992, but they hope to make a strong showing on Indian soil.

Imad also stated that the Pakistani squad will go into the Asia Cup plus ODI World Cup as the favourites since they have a very strong ODI team, as well as added that he is excited to watch them compete in the forthcoming major tournaments. The ace Pakistan spinner also said that

“I just want the Pakistan team to win the World Cup and Asia Cup and Afghanistan series, and I am very happy with the team they have announced. I am looking forward to watching them play because in ODI, Pakistan has got a very strong team and they are favourites in my opinion, both in the Asia Cup and the World Cup. In India to beat India is hard work and in one-day cricket to beat Pakistan in Asian conditions is even harder. What I am seeing is Pakistan and India might go deep in the tournament. We might see the repeat of the 2017 champions trophy” Imad Wasim said on YouTube.

Pakistan have won the World Cup only once

Since claiming their first championship in 1992, they have not won the World Cup. Since then, they have only once advanced to the final, in 1999. They are still vying for their second World Cup victory, and they will try to perform well at the upcoming major competition in India.

In the history of the ODI World Cups also, the Pakistan team have never been successful in beating the Indian team on the biggest stage and would be also eyeing their first win. Let us look at how Twitter has reacted to it:
