David Warner’s wife takes dig at Mitchell Johnson after his magnificent hundred against Pakistan in 1st Test

Australia’s star left-handed batter David Warner proved why he is known as one of the most lethal openers in the history of the game. The star opener smashed his 26th Test century in the 1st Test of the 3-match series against Pakistan at the Perth Stadium in Perth on Thursday, December 14.

Interestingly, this is Warner’s farewell Test series and smashing a hundred in the last Test series of his career is nothing sort of a remarkable achievement for him. Meanwhile, Warner’s wife, Candice Warner recently took to her social media handle and took a jibe at former Australia pacer Mitchell Johnson. She posted Warner’s image with the caption ‘shhhh’ and asked his critics to keep silent.

Why does a struggling Test opener get to nominate his own retirement date?: Mitchell Johnson

The star left-hander was recently involved in an online feud with his former teammate Mitchell Johnson who questioned the Australian team selection for including Warner in the Test series to just bid him a farewell. Johnson believes that Warner doesn’t deserve to be included in the squad as he has been struggling in the longer format for a while. However, Warner’s century might be enough to shut down Johnson’s statements. Check out what Johnson said about Warner.

“It’s been five years and David Warner has still never really owned the ball-tampering scandal. Now the way he is going out is underpinned by more of the same arrogance and disrespect to our country. As we prepare for David Warner’s farewell series, can somebody please tell me why? Why does a struggling Test opener get to nominate his own retirement date? And why a player at the centre of one of the biggest scandals in Australian cricket history warrants a hero’s send-off?”. Johnson was quoted as saying by The Cricket Lounge.

After hitting the century, Warner celebrated the achievement in his trademark manner as he jumped and punched the air. He also sent a flying kiss, however, it is unknown for whom it was but fans are suggesting that it was a sweet reply to Johnson.
