Virat Kohli is known as a run machine. He is known as someone who breaks batting records for fun in cricket. The star batter has several records to his name already. Two of the biggest such records were broken a couple of months back when Virat played a significant role in India’s campaign in the ODI World Cup 2023, where the home side was up against top teams in the world.

In the tournament, Virat broke the record for the most hundreds in ODIs, which was previously held by his idol Sachin Tendulkar. In fact, the latter witnessed it in front of his own eyes and congratulated him. Likewise, Virat became the batter with the most number of runs in a single edition of an ODI WC, as he ended the tournament with a whopping 765 runs.

In 2024, Virat will be eyeing to break several records. If Virat scores 544 or more runs against England, he will become the leading run scorer for India against England in Tests, again surpassing Sachin Tendulkar. Virat is 152 runs away from becoming the fastest batter to score 14000 runs in ODIs. It is a bit doubtful as there are only 3 ODIs in 2024 scheduled for India.

Virat to have another record-breaking year!

Virat is 35 runs away from completing 12000 runs in T20 cricket, a record which is certain to be broken. He will be the fourth batter to reach the milestone. Virat needs just 21 runs to become India’s highest run scorer against England across formats. The star batter needs just 5 hundred to become the batter with the most hundreds at home. Virat needs just 322 runs to become India’s highest run scorer in the West Indies.

The record is currently held by the Indian coach Rahul Dravid. Virat needs just one century to become the batter with most hundreds against New Zealand. He is currently tied with Sachin for the same. Virat needs just 383 runs to become India’s highest run scorer against Bangladesh in the longest format of the game, a record which is again held by his idol Tendulkar.
