‘CEO of Dinda Academy’ – Fans react as Haris Rauf concedes 60 off 4 overs in 3rd T20I against New Zealand
The 3rd match of the 5-match T20I series between New Zealand and Pakistan was played at the University Oval in Dunedin on Wednesday, January 17. The Blackcaps continued their dominance and defeated the Men in Green by 45 runs and sealed the series 3-0.
Meanwhile, fans have taken to trolling Pakistan’s prominent fast bowler, Haris Rauf, who struggled in the recent match, conceding 60 runs in his four overs. Rauf’s inconsistent performances have raised concerns, especially with the upcoming T20 World Cup on the horizon, posing a significant challenge for the Pakistan team management.
Brilliant batting performance by Finn Allen
Talking about the match, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first. However, the decision backfired as New Zealand’s young opener, Finn Allen, displayed exceptional form, scoring a breathtaking century with a 137-run knock off just 62 balls, featuring 5 fours and 16 sixes.
Despite contributions from Tim Seifert, who added 31 runs, most Pakistani bowlers were expensive, with Rauf being the most costly. Although Rauf managed to take two wickets, he struggled to contain the opposition, conceding crucial runs.
In the pursuit of the target, Pakistan‘s top and middle order showed promise initially, but none could stay at the crease long enough to finish the game. Former skipper Babar Azam notched up another half-century, scoring 58 runs with 8 fours and 1 six, but lacked support from his teammates.
Tim Southee, Mitchell Santner, and Lockie Ferguson were standout performers with the ball for New Zealand. Southee claimed 2 wickets, conceding only 29 runs, while Santner and Ferguson each took a wicket with an impressive economy rate below 7. And now, with two matches left in the series, Pakistan will play for pride, and the team’s ability to bounce back remains uncertain.
