Today marks 15 years of Deepika Padukone in the industry.

The road to Deepika’s film career has not been easy. She experienced a variety of flops after experiencing success in her Bollywood debut, including Chandni Chowk to China, Karthik Calling Karthik, Lafangey Parindey, and others. That didn’t stop the actress, though. She persisted in her efforts until Cocktail came along and altered Deepika’s career path.

As we commemorate Deepika Padukone’s 15 years in Bollywood, we pick a handful of her blockbuster movies that demonstrate why she is frequently referred to as the Queen of the industry.

Om Shanti Om

Deepika Padukone entered the Bollywood film industry with a bang! With equal panache, the actress portrayed the poised Shantipriya and the cool, sophisticated Sandy. Shah Rukh Khan’s opposite Deepika Padukone didn’t give the impression that this was her first Bollywood movie through her attire, dialogue delivery, or performance.

Love Aaj Kal

Love Aaj Kal, Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan’s 2009 film, received favorable reviews. The two had terrific screen chemistry in the Imtiaz Ali movie, and they also looked great together. The movie simply served to highlight Deepika’s progress as a performer.

Cocktail

After a few movies, Cocktail released, which also starred Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan and was well received by the audience. But Deepika was in another level as Veronica in Cocktail! Everyone came to the realization that they all have a little bit of Veronica in them because of her carefree avatar at the beginning and her poised self at the end.

Yeh Jawani hai Deewani

Scholar Naina was our favorite and an all-time favorite! The cast, plot, songs, acting, and everything else about the movie followed the rules of a smash hit. As Naina Talwar, Deepika Padukone excelled. In fact, we frequently find ourselves viewing this movie repeatedly.

Piku

Making your presence known while sharing screen time with the late Irrfan and iconic Amitabh Bachchan is no simple undertaking. In this film directed by Shoojit Sircar, Deepika Padukone really killed it! In the movie, the actress portrayed Big B’s daughter. Nobody can deny that they occasionally cried a little for Piku, whether they admit it or not.

Ram Leela

With her debut Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone had her first taste of a blockbuster. The actress learned a great deal from the movie, including a smash hit, job experience with SLB, and also found her true love!

Bajirao Mastani

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh worked together once again on the film Bajirao Mastani. Her appearance, her facial expressions, her acting—everything about Mastani was fantastic! She absolutely stole the show as Mastani, and the her looks from the film are still recreated.

Padmaavat

Padmaavat is the 3rd Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie wherein Deepika played the titular role of Rani Padmaavati and aced the complicated role with finesse. She played the role so good, it was difficult to focus on Shahid Kapoor who played her husband in the film.

Here’s to the undisputed Queen of Bollywood! Onwards and upwards only for the actress as she has Pathaan and Project K in the line.
