Indian cricket team speedster Mohammed Siraj is breathing fire at the iconic Wankhede Stadium against Sri Lanka in the 33rd match of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 on Thursday, November 2. India set a target of 358 runs for the Sri Lankan team but Siraj’s magnificent bowling display almost ended Sri Lanka’s hope to chase the target.

Starting the 2nd innings, Jasprit Bumrah struck in the very first ball as he dismissed Pathum Nissanka, while Siraj did the same in the following over by dismissing Dimuth Karunaratne, before adding a second three balls later. He then cleaned up the Sri Lankan skipper Kusal Mendis in the next over, reigniting memories of the Asia Cup 2023 final.

Brilliant batting performance by India

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and asked the Indian team to put runs on the scoreboard. The Men in Blue had a horrible start by losing skipper Rohit Sharma in the 2nd ball of the match. But the dynamic Indian duo of Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill set the platform for the team for a big total.

They were also looking good for big centuries but both were nipped out by Dilshan Madushanka who ended with a fifer. They missed their tons but stitched a massive 189-run stand for the 2nd wicket. Gill played a magnificent knock of 92 runs off 92 balls which included 11 fours and 2 sixes while Kohli smashed 88 runs off 94 deliveries.

Shreyas Iyer also missed his century by 17 runs, his 83-run knock came off just 56 balls which included 3 fours and 6 sixes. But the Indian batters scored heavily in most passages to ensure the 350 mark was breached. India added 93 runs in the last 10 overs as Ravindra Jadeja scored some vital runs down the order.
