India pacer Mohammed Siraj has wreaked havoc in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 final against Sri Lanka. In the game, the home side, Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. However, ahead of the game, rain meant that the game was delayed from its scheduled start. Meanwhile, from the first over, bowled by Jasprit Bumrah, the Men In Blue have been on the top.

As the rain interrupted the game and it has been overcast, the ball has been doing a lot. The seven-time winners had a great start as Bumrah took out Kusal Perera as the latter tried to play a drive. He edged the ball towards KL Rahul with the keeping gloves on. Even though Kusal Mendis started his innings with a boundary, he was struggling as the bowlers didn’t give much away.

Meanwhile, Siraj started his thunderous spell with a maiden in the second over of the game. In the next over, Bumrah conceded only a single before the storm arrived in the next over.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore player in the IPL started wreaking havoc with the wicket of Pathum Nissanka. The latter tried to play a drive on the up but was caught at point by a diving Ravindra Jadeja. After taking the catch, the 2013 Champions Trophy took some medical help but that didn’t have any impact of the game. Two balls later, Sadeera Samarawickrama was trapped lbw.

On the very next ball, Charitha Asalanka, the last game hero against Pakistan, was caught at covers trying to play a drive on the up. On the hat-trick ball, the team took four slips and the mid-on area was vacant. Dhanajaya de Silva, the in-form player pushed the ball and Siraj chased the ball towards the boundary. Despite being denied a hat-trick, Siraj was relentless as he took the wicket of De Silva on the next ball.

In his next over, Siraj took the wicket of skipper Dasun Shanaka as the stumps were rattled. At the time of writing, Kusal Mendis was also cleaned up and the home side has been reduced to 40/8.
