KL Rahul pointed out fans’ behaviour during the press conference after the end of the second day’s play between India and South Africa. As South Africa had a very good second day in the first Test at Centurion, Rahul was one of the stars of the show as he scored a magnificent hundred under pressure. It helped the visiting side to end up with a score of 245 runs on the board in the first innings.

In the press conference, Rahul was asked about the knock against South Africa which helped India to reach a par score. Rahul went back in time and remembered how the fans treated him just 3-4 months back and how they are treating him now. The star cricketer pointed out the hypocrisy of fans who react in different ways during good and bad times of one’s career.

Rahul said that just before he was about to make his comeback to the side from the injury he sustained during the IPL 2023, he got a lot of hate from the fans. Rahul made his comeback during the Asia Cup 2023 by scoring a hundred in the very match he returned to the side. He helped India to win the match against Pakistan and sealed the spot in the playing XI.

It has been a roller coaster of a year for KL Rahul. For the first 6-7 months, he struggled to score runs. But in the ODI WC 2023 and Asia Cup 2023, he was very good and helped India as a WK Batter. In the ongoing tour of SA, Rahul has helped India to win the ODI series and rescued the side from a collapse in the Centurion test with a brilliant knock as a batter.

Speaking about the hypocrisy of the fans, Rahul said “Today I’ve scored a hundred, so people are singing praises. 3-4 months ago, everybody was abusing me. It’s part of the game, but I can’t say it doesn’t affect you. It does. The sooner you realize that staying away from it is good for your game the better it is.”
