‘Bhaag Bhaag aaya sher aya sher ayaa’ – Fans react as Shreyas Iyer claims full fitness ahead of Asia Cup 2023
India middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer has opened up for the first time upon his return in the team. He picked up a back injury for the first time ahead of the home series against New Zealand in January this year. After more than a month, Iyer made his comeback but his injury re-occurred. This led to him being ruled out of IPL 2023, WTC Final, and some other bilaterals.
Ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, the right-hander has spoken to the Indian Cricket Board’s social media handle. The Kolkata Knight Riders skipper has claimed that he is fully fit.
“Feeling ecstatic to be honest, to join the team and see happy faces all around. The compassion shown by all the players was fantastic and I am thrilled to be back,” said Iyer in an interview posted by BCCI on X, formally known as Twitter.
