Both Sachin Tendulkar and Inzamam-ul-Haq won one ODI World Cup each

Speaking about Sachin Tendulkar, he played 664 matches across all three formats for the Men in Blue. In those games, he scored 34357 runs, including 164 fifties and 100 centuries. He is the only player to score 100 centuries so far in the history of the game. On the other hand, Inzamam-ul-Haq played 499 international matches and scored 20580 runs, including 129 fifties and 39 centuries. But, many fans believe that the former Pakistan batter contributed more to winning causes of his country than Tendulkar. Both these players won the World Cup also once. Inzamam won the ODI World Cup in 1992 while Sachin won the ODI World Cup in 2011.

Both these players have always heaped praises for each other on many occasions. In a chat with Ravichandran Ashwin in 2022, Inzamam was asked about Sachin’s 2003 World Cup knock against the Men in Green. He said: “I have seen Sachin play a lot but the way he batted in that match; I have never seen him play like that before. The way he played against our fast bowlers in those conditions was superb. I think he scored 98 before getting out to Shoaib Akhtar. I feel that was Sachin’s best innings. He broke all the pressure. He played a top-quality innings against genuine quality fast bowlers like ours. The way he hit those boundaries, the pressure got released on the batsmen who came after him.”
