In order to win the second Test being played in Port of Spain, India have set a target of 365 runs for the West Indies. The Caribbean squad have already lost two wickets while chasing the target and finished the fourth day of play with 76 runs. West Indies will need 289 runs to win on the last day, and India will need 8 more wickets to win the series.

Meanwhile, India’s young wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan, who was playing the 2nd Test of his career, smashed a brilliant half-century which came off just 33 balls and also hit 4 fours and 2 sixes. After the stumps on Day 4, Kishan was interviewed where he revealed how Rishabh Pant helped him to improve his bat position.

“I was at NCA before coming here. I was practising there and Rishabh was also there for his rehab. He just got a few points for me. He asked me to you know, the bat position and everything because he, had seen me playing with him. We have played together so many matches. We have been together since U-19. So he knows how I play, what my mindset is. So you just help me a little bit with my bat position and everything, so otherwise, I think I also wanted someone to tell me a few things about my batting and it was a great time for him to come and chat with me and really thankful for that,” Kishan was quoted as saying by India Today.

I just wanted to go in and hit every ball: Ishan Kishan

Indian batters put on a destructive batting performance on the fourth day. Particularly the Test captain Rohit Sharma and wicketkeeper-batter Kishan, who both played like they were playing T20. Rohit scored his quickest fifty of his Test career. Rohit smashed his half-century in just 35 balls.

But Kishan turned out to be faster than him and hit the maiden fifty of his Test career in just 33 balls. He said that it was a dream come true for him to play in white jersey. “It was one of my dreams to get into the whites. I just wanted to go in and hit every ball. Mostly thankful to my parents who have always supported me.” he said.
