The much-anticipated five-match Test series between India and England will start on January 25 in Hyderabad. Ahead of the series, the Asian side has slipped to second place. This has happened as Australia beat West Indies by 10 wickets in three days. With this win, the World Test Championship 2023-25 defending champions have jumped to first place with a win percentage of 61.11 with six wins in nine games.

On the other hand, the two-time WTC finalists have slipped to number two from first position. They reached the top after registering a memorable win against South Africa at Newlands, Cape Town. While the Aussies will play one more Test against the Men In Maroon, India will play more Tests in recent future. There are high chances that India might go up to the top after the series.

However, England, who didn’t play in the final in the last two editions, would like to make a statement in India after the 2012 series. On the other hand, Australia is expected to win against a depleted side of the Caribbean as they decide to try out new players for the series. On the other hand, Steve Smith is opening the batting in Tests for the ongoing series.

India Squad for first 2 Tests vs England: Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (WK), KS Bharat (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Avesh Khan
