MS Dhoni is currently getting himself ready for what is likely to be his last season at the top level. Chennai Super Kings won their fifth IPL title this year after beating Gujarat Titans in the final. While many expected 2023 to be Dhoni’s final season the CSK skipper decided to play on for one more season.

Ahead of the new season, MS Dhoni has revealed his plans with the Indian army after his eventual retirement. It is well-known how much love and adulation the former Indian skipper has for the Indian forces.

After winning the ODI World Cup in 2011, MS Dhoni is an honorary lieutenant colonel in the Territorial Army’s Parachute Regiment. Even during his active playing days, MSD would fulfil his commitments to the forces.

On several occasions, the current Chennai Super Kings captain has shown glowing admiration towards the army. IPL 2024 is most likely the final season for the former Indian skipper as a top-flight cricketer.

Growing injuries and his diminishing powers as a batter have always seen many raise questions about MSD. Recently Robin Minz’s father revealed a special chat he had with the former Indian skipper.

Francis Minz said to the media “I recently met MS Dhoni at the airport. He promised me that if no one buys him at the IPL 2024 auction, we will buy him”. Robin eventually went to Gujarat Titans who picked him up for INR 3.6 Crores.

Amir Haque who is one of the three coaches for the youngster said “We call him Ranchi ka Chris Gayle. He is a left-handed batter and can hit huge sixes. Robin likes to take on the bowlers from ball one and believes in scoring runs at a strike rate of 200”
