India middle-order batters, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya have rescued the team in the ongoing game against Pakistan. After winning the toss, the seven-time winners, India elected to bat first. They had two rain breaks and a break in momentum in the powerplay. Apart from this, their top order was taken down by Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf as they took two wickets each.

The Men In Blue lost four wickets for 66 runs and looked like the game was going away from them. However, Kishan and Pandya, whose batting and captaincy respectively in recent times have come under criticism in the last few months. However, they put together 138 runs for the fifth wicket. Talking about Pandya, he scored 87 runs in 90 balls and scored singles on a lot of occasions.

He hit seven fours and a six during his innings. On the other hand, Kishan amassed 82 off 81 balls including nine fours and two sixes. The left-hander, before getting out in the 38th over, got some cramps. As called by former India head coach, Ravi Shastri in the comm box, Kishan tried to take a chance against Rauf but failed to do so.

Thanks to their innings, the former champions helped the team 266 all out at the end of the innings. At one stage, India looked like getting 300 plus. However, in the last few overs, they lost their wickets. However, the likes of Jasprit Bumrah (16) and Kuldeep Yadav (4) applied themselves and helped to gain some vital runs in the end.

For Pakistan, Afridi took four wickets but was denied his maiden five-wicket haul against India by the likes of Bumrah and Yadav. On the other hand, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf took three wickets each. The latter got bashed by Indian batters on occasion. Notably, all wickets fell to fast bowlers in the first occasion.
