‘Apni loyalty saabit karni padi’ – Fans abuzz as India A youngsters react to Virat Kohli’s 82* vs Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2022

India A Team are currently playing in the ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2023. The women’s version of the tournament was just-concluded with India winning the title.  The men’s team would be looking to repeat similar success. Notably, the players of the India A team, mostly youngsters, were asked about their thoughts on Virat Kohli’s magnificent match-winning knock of 82* off 53 deliveries against Pakistan in the World T20 World Cup 2022.

A video posted by the broadcaster of the tournament has gone viral on social media. The video shows Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, and Sai Sudharsan giving out their views on the knock. “Virat Kohli has played the best T20 inning to date. Even as players, we were thinking that we might have lost the game. And to win from that position is very memorable for all of us,” said Abhishek Sharma.

At the same time, Riyan Parag opined, “We went out for a coffee and we were watching the game on Hotstar. I was like no way, Virat’s not doing this. The look in his face, the look in his eyes. That’s the most comfortable shot he plays most often but then it’s just with the vibe, with the flow, with the energy, I think it came off as icing on the cake. Beautiful.” Lastly, Sai Sudharsan added, “It was like a superhuman shot. I really enjoyed the innings specifically. After that, I also got the belief that I play very similar to him, so it’s more of ideas, more of technique. If you work on it, you will definitely get it. I think that’s the takeaway from that shot.”

Talking about the tournament, India A have won both their games so far in the group stages. They won by 8 wickets in the first game against UAE and then by 9 wickets in the second game against Nepal. They’ll face Pakistan on Wednesday in their last fixture before the knockout stages commence.
