Anurag Kashyap pens praises for Sandeep Reddy Vanga amidst criticism
Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has been under severe criticism for his film that was released last year. Talking about the film is about a son willing to do anything to get validation from his father. However, Ranbir Kapoor, who was playing the son, failed miserably. The film has been criticized on many grounds, given the director’s history of making Kabir Singh, a remake of Arjun Reddy, starring Vijay Devarkonda.
Meanwhile, celebrated film,-maker, Anurag Kashyap, known for films such as Gangs of Wasseypur and many others, met Vanga. In an Instagram post by Kashyap, he wrote a long note on Vanga’s ability and how he is misunderstood.
Had a great evening with Sandeep Reddy Vanga: Anurag Kashyap
“Had a great evening with @sandeepreddy.vanga. The most misunderstood, judged, and reviled Filmmaker at the moment. To me, he is the most honest, vulnerable, and lovely human being. And I really don’t give a f””” what anyone thinks of him or his film. I wanted to meet the man and I had questions and he answered everything I asked of him about his film that I actually saw twice. Thank you for being patient and being yourself. 40 days since I first saw ANIMAL and 22 days since I saw it the second time. The biggest game changer of Hindi cinema in a long time and a film whose impact (good or bad) can’t be denied. And the filmmaker who takes it all on his chin. Great evening spent with him,” Kashyap Wrote
