‘Akhirkaar sharam karli ladke ne’ – Fans react to Jasprit Bumrah bowling full throttle in nets ahead of Ireland tour
India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been seen bowling with full strength in nets in a video going viral. He has been out of the team since September last year due to back surgery. Bumrah’s back injury occurred for the first time in July last year ahead of the third ODI against England. The right-arm pacer was ruled out for the game.
This led to him being ruled out of the ODI series in West Indies. The Gujarat player returned to the NCA to recover. This injury meant that the experienced player missed out on the Asia Cup 2022. Jasprit was rushed to the team for the T20I series against Australia at home. However, he was ruled out after playing only one game.
The biggest blow for the team was the 29-year-old missing the T20 World Cup 2022. India lost the semis of the tournament to the eventual title winner, England. Since then, he was rumored of making a comeback more than thrice this year. However, the team management wasn’t ready to rush him like last time. Also, the NCA doctors were also skeptical given the nature of the injury.
Jasprit Bumrah started bowling seven to eight overs a day: Reports
As reported early this month, the Mumbai Indians player started bowling seven to eight overs a day at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. However, the sources close to him said that it is not wise to set any timeline as constant monitoring is necessary.
“For an injury of this nature, it is not wise to set any timeline as constant monitoring is necessary. But Bumrah is recovering well and he has bowled seven overs at NCA nets. It is a steady increase in his workload from the light workouts and bowling sessions of the initial period. He will play a few practice matches (at NCA) next month, and there will be a close assessment of his fitness then,” a source tracking the development told PTI earlier this month.
Jasprit might make his comeback for India in the Ireland tour next month.

I hope he gets to play some bilaterals before directly playing into the world cup , can't risk the world cup just because of his past performances , need to watch his current form first …
