The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is still a month away but the fever of IPL is heating up due to MS Dhoni. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni has started practising for the upcoming season of the IPL. Many fans believed that the last IPL would be MS Dhoni’s last but he made sure it wouldn’t be his last before lifting the trophy. MS Dhoni was seen padded up with yellow pads in the next.

It’s the first time that MS Dhoni’s bat made more headlines than himself. A photo of MS Dhoni doing practice with a new sticker of Prime Sports on his bat went viral on social media. It’s a sign that MS Dhoni has paid tribute to his childhood friend Paramjit Singh who is the owner of a sports shop. His shop was also portrayed in his biopic ‘MS Dhoni, the Untold Story’.

As MS Dhoni is nearing the end of his cricket career, he is showing his true friendship to Paramjit Singh who has played an important role in his initial cricketing career. Before the 2019 ODI World Cup MS Dhoni played with various sponsors on his bat. This act was a surprise for him to cricket lovers.

IPL is a great tournament – Adam Gilchrist

While commentary in the second T20I match between Australia and West Indies former Australia wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist stated that Prime Sports is ‘just a local store’. And that’s when Gilchrist took over, bringing up the bat sticker topic. “I saw him hitting some balls in the nets, MS Dhoni. There’s a new bat sticker on his bat. Just a local sports store of one of his schoolmates. Whack the company name on your bat just to give a boost to sales,” he said.

Adam Gilchrist also stated that “IPL is a great tournament. Best players from all around the world play in the IPL. IPL also has best Indian players playing in the tournament”. Talking about the fans he said that the crowds in the stadium are unbelievable. The atmosphere and the noise in the ground are unbelievable. And MS Dhoni is back. He’s hitting balls in the nets already I reckon,” he added.
