This was the last game that was played in Pakistan before the tournament shifted entirely to Colombo, Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, in the game, the Tigers, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. They lost four wickets for 47 runs with Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah taking one each wicket. On the other hand, Haris Rauf took two wickets at this stage. At 47/4, the likes of former skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and current skipper Shakib Al Hasan put together 100 runs for the fifth wicket. Both players scored fifties but failed to get a big score. After their wickets, the team failed to cross the 200-run mark.

Haris Rauf took four wickets while Shah took three. On the other hand, Afridi, Iftikhar Ahmad, and Faheem Ashraf took one each. The three-time finalists were bowled out for 193 all-out.

Pakistan chased down the target comfortably

In reply, the two-time winners had an easy task in hand. Even though the game was stopped for half an hour. Despite this, the team wasn’t in any trouble. Fakhar Zaman, who has been out of form for some time, managed to amass 20 runs despite being dropped initially.

Skipper Babar Azam (17) had a rare failure as he was bowled by Taskin Ahmed. Imam-ul Haq amassed 78 runs while Mohammad Rizwan remained not out for 63 runs. In the end, the team won the game by seven wickets and 10.3 overs. Talking about Pakistan, they took 10 wickets in their consecutive game of the ongoing tournament. With this win, Pakistan has come closer to the final of the tournament.

They will play next against arch-rival India in Colombo. The Pakistan vs Bangladesh game was the last match in Pakistan. For the next two days, the tournament will observe off days before it resumes on September 9.
