Shubman Gill is currently busy playing in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. After a horrible start against Pakistan, he looked in good touch against Nepal as Gill scored 67* runs off 62 balls. Now, on 8 September 2023, Gill turned 24 years old and hence, he will look to do well against Pakistan on 10 September in the ‘Super 4’ clash. 

Meanwhile, the former Team India great, Sachin Tendulkar shared a ‘Happy Birthday’ tweet for the star batter and it went viral. He wrote: “Happiest birthday to you @ShubmanGill. May the upcoming year be full of runs and great memories.” Seeing that tweet, fans shared some funny memes on social media.

Shubman Gill has played 29 ODIs so far for Team India 

After his innings vs Nepal, Gill also became the new number three ranked batter in the ODIs. In 29 ODIs, he has scored runs at an average of 63.08. Gill has already a double century to his name in the 50-over format. In all three formats, he has already smashed a century. In the recent 2023 IPL edition, he was the highest run-scorer. Rumours have always been galore on social media of Gill having an affair with Sachin’s daughter Sara Tendulkar. But, noting office has been confirmed so far from them. 

However, regarding his recent form in the white-ball formats, the former Pakistan batter, Salman Butt opened up on his YouTube channel and backed him to shine in teh upcoming matches. He said: “He has faced Nortje who has similar pace. He has faced Rabada and others too. It’s not just pace, it’s also because of the line and length and swing, along with that pace. Shaheen’s skill-set is the factor. This is the same Shubman Gill who pulled Nortje on the front-foot, who took on the likes of Lockie Ferguson when he scored that double century in ODIs. He has performed against bowlers faster than Shaheen.” 

“Shaheen’s big factor is the late swing with new ball. It troubles most batters. Shubman is new, but Rohit is one of the most experienced players, and he also faced trouble. Kohli also got out. Shaheen has troubled David Warner as well,” Salman Butt concluded.
