IPL 2024 is just a few weeks away from beginning. The 17th edition of the League is set to begin with the match between CSK and RCB in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram stadium. For the first time in more than ten months, cricket’s two big stars MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are set to be against each other. IPL 2024 would be crucial for the players who aim to make it to the T20 WC 2024 squads. The schedule for the first two weeks of the League is out.

IPL is where the batters usually dominate the bowlers, more so in the last few seasons. The batters smash the bowlers for fun and entertain the crowd. The bowlers sometimes would be mere spectators and act as bowling machines. Hence, quality bowlers become a lot more crucial for the teams in the league. Especially in the last four overs of an innings where the batters tend to extract a lot of runs, containing runs becomes crucial.

Some teams have some of the bowlers who are difficult to hit towards the fag end of the game due to a lot of factors. Here are the five IPL teams in the 17th edition of the league with the best bowling lineup towards the death overs.

Kagiso Rabada and Arshdeep Singh have bowled at the death together in the past. In the IPL 2022 and the IPL 2023, the duo has bowled alongside the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2024. While the South African varies his lengths well to deceive the batters with occasional bouncers, Yorkers, and change of pace, Arshdeep is one of the best bowlers at the death with his Yorkers. The key for the latter would be to minimize the errors. At times, Arshdeep can deliver a full toss or go short by missing his Yorkers.

Theekshana can trick the batters with his varied spin. Pathirana was a revelation with his Yorkers who were right on the money more often than not. The problem with Matheesha was his action which brought on a lot of wider deliveries. In that case, CSK has a backup in Mustafizur Rahman who can deliver slower ones and cutters in Chennai.
