Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka in the first Test of the 2-match Test series by 4 wickets on Thursday, July 20 at the Galle International Stadium in Galle. This is a great start for their World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle campaign. However, they would like to get another win in the 2nd Test against Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket team have now acquired the 2nd spot in the WTC 2023-25 points table. They are only behind India, who have the same points but their win against West Indies in the first Test came by a huge margin. However, many Pakistani fans were delighted after seeing the standings but they were brutally trolled by other fans who reminded them that it’s too early to celebrate as they have played only one match till now.

Pakistan and India both got 12 points after their win and their win percentage is also 100. However, both have a long way to go and they will hope to continue to perform brilliantly against every opponent they will be facing this WTC 2023-25 cycle. They will be tested in their overseas tour where the fast bowlers will put up a challenge for them.

Can we see India and Pakistan in WTC 2023-2025 final

It’d be interesting to see if India and Pakistan both get qualified for the WTC final. The fans will witness a great contest as the teams haven’t clashed against each other for a long time now. The arch-rivals have clashed against each other in the white-ball format but the clash in red-ball contest between them will be a treat to watch.

The Men in Blue have qualified for the WTC final 2 times consecutively but failed to lift the items both times. On the other hand, Pakistan never qualified for the final due to their poor performance in the longest format. They lost 2 home series in 2022, one against Australia and the other came against England. They were brutally trolled by their own fans after a poor performance.
