Indian cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma wasn’t having a great time with the bat in the past few months but it seemed like the 36-year-old batter has finally gained his form back after a magnificent century in the 1st Test of 2-match Test series against West Indies and scored 103 runs.

Meanwhile, the veteran batter also made it to the top 10 players’ list of scoring most centuries in the World Test Championship cycle. Rohit has scored 7 centuries in WTC so far and is currently the only Indian cricketer in the top 10 list which clearly shows that he has performed better than any other Indian batter in Tests.

Rohit has also scored more than 1900 runs in WTC so far and is expected to continue his dream form in the longest format. Talking about the list of the players who have smashed most hundreds in WTC, former England captain Joe Root has acquired the no. 1 spot with 12 centuries in 45 Tests.

India’s brilliant all-round performance against West Indies

Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne comes at the no. 2 spot with 10 centuries in 36 Test appearances. His fellow teammate and Australia’s vice-captain Steve Smith has also played 36 matches in WTC and smashed 9 centuries so far. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has scored 8 centuries in 24 WTC matches.

Rohit’s century against West Indies in the 1st Test was also his 10th century in the longest format. He also stitched a humongous 229-run partnership with debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal for the first wicket which helped the Indian team to get a massive lead for the 2nd innings. Jaiswal smashed a hundred in his debut Test innings. On the other, Virat Kohli also played well and scored a half-century.

After an outstanding bowling performance by the veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, India claimed a massive victory over the Caribbean side by an innings and 141 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the 2-match Test series. The 2nd Test will be played on July 20 at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain.
