‘1 match ke baad zyada hi uchhal raha hai’ – Fans react on Prithvi Shaw’s ‘I hope my runs do the talking’ comments after smashing double hundred in List A cricket

Indian cricketer and U-19 Cricket World Cup 2017 winning captain Prithvi Shaw may not be having a great time when it comes to the international platforms but his recent performance in the Royal One Day Cup for Northamptonshire where he smashed a brilliant double century to help his team to clinch an 87-run victory.

Meanwhile, Shaw recently talked about his performance and shared his thoughts on his chances of making a comeback in the Indian cricket team. Shaw also became the first Indian to smash a double hundred in List A cricket in England. However, the 23-year-old batter wasn’t aware of this feat and got surprised after knowing that.

“Oh, am I? I didn’t know that. But, it feels great and hopefully, I can score more. I try not to think too much and take each game at a time. My main priority when I bat is to score runs for my team and make the team win games. But, I feel I am hitting the ball well and I hope that my runs do the talking,” Shaw was quoted as saying by Sportstar.

I just want to keep winning games for Northampton: Prithvi Shaw

Shaw played a magnificent knock of 244 runs off just 153 balls which included 28 fours and 11 sixes against Somerset on August 9. However, he had a horrible run at the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier this year. His fitness is also a biggest concern and it’d be interesting to see if he works on it or not. However, the young batter talked about playing in different conditions and said that it is very important to adapt to all the conditions.

“As a modern cricketer, it is important to adapt to all the conditions. Initially, England was cold and rainy so I wore jumpers to keep myself warm. I am very grateful to my friend Brindon Bagirathan and Northamptonshire CCC for giving me this opportunity. I just want to keep winning games for Northampton and hopefully, the rest will be given,” he indeed.
