‘Yeh thoda zyada bezzati nahi hogyi?’ – Fans react as Galle Titans beat B-Love Kandy by 83 runs in LPL 2023
The fifth game of the Lanka Premier League 2023 (LPL 2023) pitted the Galle Titans against the B-Love Kandy at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The Titans won the toss and elected to bat first which is the logical choice if playing the second game on this surface. Guided by Tim Siefert’s brilliant 74 off 39, including five fours and five sixes, the Titans reached 180/5 in their 20 overs. While Shakib Al Hasan contributed with 30 off 21, including two sixes, Shevon Daniel hit 25 off 31 with three fours and a six while opening the innings for the Titans. Skipper Wanindu Hasaranga, Mohammad Hasnain, and Aamer Jamal picked up one wicket each for B-Love Kandy.
In reply, the team from Kandy were dismissed for 97 runs as it seemed like the batters had forgotten how to bat. Ashen Bandara’s 27 off 19, including a four and two sixes aside only opener Thanuka Dabare (12 off 11) and lower order batter Isuru Udana (16 off 12) reached double digits. Eight batters were dismissed for single-digit scores while three of them went out for ducks in a forgettable batting display.
Galle Titans are the current table-toppers of LPL 2023
Kasun Rajitha with figures of 2/8 in two overs remained the pick of the bowlers. However, three other bowlers scalped two wickets in the game. Shakib Al Hasan registered figures of 2/10 in three overs whereas Richard Ngarava registered 2/15 from the same number of overs. Tabraiz Shamsi completed his quota of four overs with figures of 2/20. The remaining two wickets were scalped one each by Lahiru Samarakoon and Akila Dhananjaya.
The Titans registered a massive victory by 83 runs and moved to the top of the table with two wins from two games, giving them four points. Thanks to the margin of these victories, they also enjoy the best net run rate. B-Love Kandy on the other hand are at the bottom of the table losing both their games so far. In the first game of the day, Dambulla Auras down the three-time champions Jaffna Kings by 8 wickets.

Fakhar Zaman and Mohommad Haris in for Asif Ali and Aamer Jamal. Remove useless Mathews and Chandimal from the team and give chances to 2 new youngsters.

B love kandy have two game changer/winner or big player namely M.harish and F. jaman ,we have to both in the team for future winning. Because we already lost first two matches .M harish is regular player and he is best opener to give best start, and F. jaman bat in 3rd position.
