Australia’s tour of England for the iconic Ashes 2023 series has gone to the next level with the involvement of English media. During the 2nd Test, many English newspapers trolled the Australian for dismissing Jonny Bairstow in a controversial manner. However, this time the news is coming from outside the field.

There are some rumours going on about the Australian wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey having a haircut without paying. A Leeds-based barber, Adam Mahmood has come forward and said that Carey hasn’t paid him INR 3181. However, he has given the cricketer a deadline of the last day of the 3rd Ashes Test.

Meanwhile, Australian vice-captain Steve Smith came forward in support of Carey and revealed that he hasn’t had any haircut since they are in London. He also lashed out at a newspaper ‘The Sun’ for spreading the news and asking them to check their facts properly. Here’s what he wrote, “I can confirm Alex Carey has not had a haircut since we were in London. Get your facts right The Sun.”

If it’s not paid by Monday, I won’t be happy: Adam Mahmood

Adam earlier talked about the matter and explained that they don’t accept cards and that Carey didn’t have any cash on him. While his teammates Marnus Labuschagne, David Warner, and Usman Khawaja paid their amount but Carey left without paying. However, Adam said that he is giving him the benefit of the doubt and gave him the deadline of Monday.

“I’m still waiting. They all came in just before we shut. We cut their hair and had a great laugh. But we don’t accept cards and Alex said he had no cash on him. Well, there’s a Tesco cash machine literally around the corner he could have run to. He could have nipped back to their hotel and been no more than five minutes but instead, he said he would transfer it. Maybe he forgot. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt but if it’s not paid by Monday, I won’t be happy.”
