There was no play in the first session of the World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand at the Ageas Bowl due to continuous rain.

“Unfortunately there will be no play in the first session on Day 1 of the ICC World Test Championship final,” the BCCI posted on Twitter.

In fact, rain is forecast on all 5 days of the test.

The ICC has kept a reserve day to make up for time lost because of rain delays.

However, even the sixth day might be called, as per the weather forecast, owing to the threat of rain.

There were some hilarious tweets by cricketers and netizens regarding this.

Former England captain, Michael Vaughan used this to tease the Indian team.
