The jersey has ‘NAMO’ and the number 1 written behind it, making it a unique and personalized gift from one icon to another. Sachin, who is often referred to as the “Little Master” and is widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time, has a close association with Prime Minister Modi, sharing a common vision for the development of sports in India.

The foundation stone-laying ceremony itself was a momentous occasion, symbolizing India’s commitment to promoting cricket as a sport of global significance. The upcoming international cricket stadium in Varanasi is poised to become a world-class venue, further cementing India’s status as a cricketing powerhouse.

It is being reported that the estimated cost to build the stadium is around INR 450 crores. The Indian Cricket Board will spend around INR 331 crores for the construction while UP’s chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s government spent around INR 121 crores to acquire the land for the stadium. During the foundation event, PM Modi said that the stadium is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

“This stadium in the city of ‘Mahadev’ will be dedicated to ‘Mahadev’ himself. The sportspersons here will benefit from the construction of an international stadium in Kashi. This stadium will become the star of the Purvanchal region,” PM Modi said during the event.

As Sachin Tendulkar and Prime Minister Modi shared this special moment, it underscored the significance of sports in fostering camaraderie and pride in the nation.
