Why Bayern Munich want to get rid of Sadio Mane
Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mane’s move to Germany has turned out to be a disaster.
Apparently, the Senegalese star wants to return to England this summer.
Having left Liverpool for Bayern, Mane has struggled on and off the pitch in his first season in Germany.
Mane knows Bayern management are prepared to sell and he won’t prove difficult, accepting the move hasn’t worked out.
A return to the Premier League is favoured by the striker, with Liverpool his top choice.
Famous journalist Florian Plettenberg said, “Signing Mané is considered a mistake, especially with his salary of more than 20 million euros a year.
“After his disappointing performances, there is a joke circulating on Säbener Straße that Bayern signed Mané’s twin brother, not Liverpool’s.”
Mane has a deal to 2025 at Bayern.
Mane’s frustration boiled over as he physically clashed with Bayern Munich teammate Leroy Sane after the 3-0 defeat to Manchester City in the 1st leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
And in the aftermath, BILD says Mane struck Sane in the away dressing room.
Mane was furious after an on-field argument with his teammate and later “complained” about how he had been spoken to.
The pair were pictured talking on the pitch in the 83rd minute following a mix-up over an attacking move.
Tempers then flared and words were exchanged before former Liverpool star Mane allegedly struck Sane on the lip, leaving a mark.
Bayern players were forced to separate the pair, with Sane being sent out of the dressing room.
He was subsequently been fined and left out of the match day squad for their 1-1 draw at home to Hoffenheim on Saturday afternoon.
A number of Bayern Munich players reportedly distanced themselves from Sadio Mane after his altercation with Leroy Sane.
Criticised for his performances upon making his first-team comeback, his high-profile incident has done little to ease pressure on his shoulders.
This could now lead to him exiting the German giants after only one season at the club.
