Rahul Dravid has given an update on Virat Kohli’s availability for the last three tests against England. The Indian Head coach was in the post-match conference after India won the Test against England. India won the 2nd Test at Viag by 106 runs. Dravid was asked several questions in the hall, including the availability of the star batter for the rest of the series.

Dravid claimed that they would talk with Virat Kohli about his availability for the last three Tests. “We’ll connect with Virat Kohli and find out about his availability for the rest of the series,” said Dravid when asked about an update on Virat. The 35-year-old opted himself out of the first two tests of the series against England due to personal reasons.

While the reason behind the same is unsure, Ab De Villiers recently claimed Virat to become a father for the 2nd time in his life. It is to be seen if Virat can make it to the series against England for the last three Tests. The Indian squad for the last three matches will be announced soon. The third Test is set to take place from the 15th to the 19th of February.

Indian Cricket Board to not force Virat Kohli to return to the side

It is to be seen if Virat will be available on time. A statement close to the Indian Cricket Board had already claimed that Virat would be given full freedom to make his decision. “Since he (Virat) is on leave for the first two matches we can’t ask him his availability before that but yes now we have to pick the squad for the rest of the matches against England,” said the statement.

It is evident that the Indian Cricket Board does not want to force Virat into the side, as he is set to become a father for the 2nd time in his life. “We will certainly seek his availability. However, it’s up to him whether he will play or not,” added the statement. India will play the third Test of the series at Rajkot with the series currently at 1-1.
