Virat Kohli opts out of first two Tests against England

Meanwhile, Virat has opted out of the first two Tests against England, which are set to happen at Hyderabad and Vizag. The reason behind the same seems to be personal and unofficial. In the absence of Virat, there have been discussions regarding the potential replacements of the star batter. Rajat Patidar and Sarfaraz Khan seem to be the frontrunners.

The Indian Cricket Board asked the fans to not attack the star batter over his decision. “The board also requests the media and fans to respect Virat Kohli’s privacy during this time and refrain from speculating on the nature of his personal reasons. The focus should remain on supporting the Indian cricket team as they embark on the upcoming challenges in the Test series,” said the press release of the Indian Cricket Board.
