Former India captain Virat Kohli is competing in his 500th international match for India in the 2nd Test match between India and West Indies at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain. On India’s tour of Sri Lanka in 2008, he made his debut abroad. As a result of Virender Sehwag‘s injury following the Test series, Kohli was handed the chance to play for India, and he hasn’t looked back since.
Meanwhile, a video is getting viral on social media in which Kohli’s fans can be seen distributing food to some poor people. Kohli’s fans showed a heartwarming gesture and a brilliant way to celebrate their idol’s feat. Many fans have appreciated this work of Kohli’s supporters.

I am grateful to play 500 games for India: Virat Kohli
Interestingly, Kohli made this milestone more special for him as he smashed his 29th Test century in his 500th international game. The right-hander has been in tremendous form from last year and that too in all formats of the game. This was also Kohli’s 76th international century, however, it’d be interesting to see if he goes past Sachin Tendulkar’s 100 international centuries record.
Kohli talked about this feat and said that he never imagined that he will play 500 games for India. However, what he likes the most about his achievements is that he has more centuries away than at home.
“I am grateful to play 500 games for India. I never imagined. It’s all hard work. It’s the commitment you give to the sport you are playing which gives you the result. These are things for others to talk about. I have got 15 centuries away from home, that’s not a bad record. I have got more hundreds away than at home. The key is to do well to the best of my ability. We haven’t played 30 matches away from home and I have got a few fifty-plus scores.” Kohli was quoted as saying by The Cricket Lounge.
