Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is the latest player to fall victim to the Deepfake video. Earlier it was Sachin Tendulkar who had been at the receiving end of such a notorious video. On Tuesday a video was doing rounds across the internet showing Virat Kohli endorsing a betting app.

Not just Virat Kohli, even Anjana Om Kashyap who is a TV news anchor is part of the video. The video begins with Anjana saying how Virat Kohli has made a statement about the betting app. The camera then pans towards Virat Kohli who is heard speaking about the benefits of the app.

The video is seen to be fake with an AI voice modulation doing an impression of Virat Kohli. The former Indian skipper is currently out of action as he is spending time with his family. It is expected the 35-year-old will be back for the IPL 2024 season.

Virat Kohli in the Deepfake net-

It seems the nuisance of AI and its targeting of Indian celebrities has taken a new turn. Virat Kohli is the latest name to find himself in the net for the Deepfake video mess. Scammers have used his voice to entrap more people into using the betting app.

Many fans were first taken aback at Virat Kohli supposedly promoting a betting app. What made it even more suspicious was that Anjana Om Kashyap was also featured. Once the fact check was done it could be seen that the video was fake.

Team India is currently missing their star batter as they head to Ranchi for the 4th Test match. Rohit Sharma and his side beat England by a huge margin to take a 2-1 lead ahead of the next game.

Jasprit Bumrah will be rested for the game while Rajat Patidar is set to be axed. KL Rahul and Axar Patel are set to make a comeback to the team. There is also a likelihood that Akash Deep could be given his debut or Mukesh Kumar can be recalled. This would occur in case the team management decided to go in with two seamers.

The rest of the team is set to remain the same as their batters have been in good form. Yashasvi Jaiswal will be looking to pile on the agony of Ben Stokes as he takes to the field once again. Sarfaraz Khan will also welcome the chance to play in Ranchi in what is likely to be a slow track.
